It’s always nice to think of summer… and summer is festival season! For yoga-lovers, festivals are a great experience. If you’ve never been to a yoga festival, there are some great reasons why you should! On YogaTrail, you’ll find pretty much every major and minor yoga festival happening near you or around the world — simply browse all festivals here. Our guest post this week is by Dayna Seraye, the Creative Director for the famous Hanuman Festival! Here’s Dayna:
There is nothing quite like the feeling you get when of hundreds of yogis come together to share a weekend of deep practice, transformation and celebration.
When people unite, something magical happens!
At a high-quality yoga festival the collective force of our combined years and depth of practice is palpable. This energy paves the way for new growth and breakthroughs, no matter where you are in your practice.
1. Experience the Power of the Collective
Movements are created and sustained when a critical mass of people focus together on the same thing.
At Hanuman Festival, our movement is the power of yoga and consciousness to “raise the vibration.” Our intention is to create a space where yogis are uplifted and inspired in their highest potential.
During every class you take at Hanuman Festival, there are five other classes happening simultaneously. Although we may all be practicing different styles of yoga at different levels, we are all connected. We are all benefitting from each other’s practice!
2. Meet Your Community
It’s deeply satisfying to join together with like-minded individuals, to drop the masks and to share from the heart. In this relaxing and uplifting setting, friendships are easily made.
In between classes at Hanuman Festival, you can listen to Inspirational Talks in the Wisdom Center, rock out to music in the Community Tent, grab some healthy food from our local vendors, or simply relax on the green grass and take in the beauty of nature.
3. Get a Big Dose of Inspiration
A yoga festival is a great place to experience new practices, techniques and ideas that can revolutionize your life.
Maybe you want to try a style of yoga you’ve never experienced? Perhaps you’d like to learn from cutting edge thought leaders on Yoga and Business or Conscious Finance, or delve into yoga philosophy and get a deeper insight into the practice of yoga?
Hanuman’s 2016 line up includes many phenomenal teachers and speakers; there really is something for everyone…
4. Have Fun!
Last but not least, a yoga festival is a great place to have fun, play and try new things — endless hours of fun in the sun, enjoying live music all day and into the night! Many festivals (like Hanuman) include activities for kids so they can have a great time too…
This June in Boulder, CO you’ll get to try out your hula hooping skills, give the slackline a go, or partake in some acro-yoga hoopla. The program also includes ‘yoga & hiking’ or ‘yoga & biking’ classes to let you experience the mountains of Boulder.
I look forward to the yoga festival summer season all year long. The amount of nourishment and transformation I experience carries me a long way, both on and off the mat.
You’re invited to join us this June at Hanuman Festival to raise the vibration and celebrate love and life…and of course yoga!
