If you're looking for some great new titles to read or if you'd like to craft your own pieces no matter the genre, the Red Dot Readers and Creative Writers Club is just the thing for you.
Readers, it's that time of year to crack open the Red Dot books and start reading! This year's lists are full of exciting titles from a wide range of genres. To join the Red Dot reading team, all you need to do is read the books from either the Older Readers (Grades 4-7) and Mature Readers (Grades 7+). If interested, you may also earn the chance to represent SAS at the Red Dot Readers Cup Competition that will be held at CIS in May.
Writers, do you ever wish you had time to "just write" without the restraints of a rubric? Have you been working on your own writing pieces at home, or have a seed idea you've been meaning to work on? Bring your ideas and drafts to share with a group of other aspiring authors. For those interested in publishing their work, we can explore real opportunities for us to submit our work in publications and contests beyond the walls of SAS. Our goal is to find inspiration from each other as we try out original pieces and work through the writing process. Writing mentors will be on hand to provide guidance, if needed.
Interested? Come by on Thursdays after school in the MS Library from 3:15-4:15 beginning this week!
